The inner combat inside Rumpelstiltskin

Continuing yesterday’s post on Rumpel, we perceive the combat inside the character, with him being forced to choose between magic, his power source that keeps his fears and inadequacies at bay and his son, whom he loves most, and whom is now lost and gone into another realm.

The main themes I perceive in Rumpel are deep seated fear/ cowardice and self-preservation and as its antidote: power.

During the first two seasons we do not have much information about why Rumpel is dealing with fear and cowardice but the devastating effects it had in his own life so far are apparent.

Fear is designed to be an alarm system for humans for imminent dangers however across generations it got corrupted and inverted inside of us and it got abused and overused. Furthermore, excessive fear got us disconnected from our inherent sovereignty given by God and constantly living in fear far beyond what is healthy for our systems and beyond what is in alignment with truth comes at a price: alienation.

For millennia, fear has been also employed to keep people “in line” and force agendas on others against their will or wish. This is not taken lightly by our Creator.

In this case, Rumpel is using power in a non beneficial way as he is ensuring he can take over other fellow villagers, guaranteeing his will is more important than any other human’s and not collaborating with others. All these actions keep perpetuating and feeding into the invasion- terror energies in this world, solely so that he can conserve his own inner angst under control. What is true power?

True power is derived from acknowledging our inner deficiencies, then accepting them and inviting our Creator into the process of unravelling and transmuting these forces. It is a process, never instant and it takes us onto a very humbling journey of self-discovery.

More onto Rumpel coming soon!
