Love versus darkness

A significant character in Rumpel’s life, Belle, has been a huge catalyst as she was able to see beyond his darkness and heartless demeanor and was attracted to what she perceived as his good heart underneath. She succeeded in reaching and “deactivating” him with her trust and kindness as Belle was not fearing him and even defied his rules a few times. In season 1, Belle’s love is not enough to help Rumpel bridge over his darkness towards true love;

Rumpelstiltskin: family or power

The first character I am exploring in this post is Mr Gold/ Rumpelstiskin during the first two seasons which I absolutely adore in his complexity.

Rumpel has dealt with abandonment from his father, the death of his mother, he was called a coward and had lots of public humiliation, one example being when one property owner forced him to kiss his shoe in front of his son. Furthermore, during the war, he lied to his superiors and broke his own leg so he is not forced to fight and risk his life, his injury being the perfect excuse for him to be sent back home. As usual, in life, when it rains it pours and due to rumors having reached his village about the cowardice on the warfront concerning the leg injury, his reputation of a coward has been intensified, and as a result his wife left him and his son. Rumpelstiltskin did not have the courage to stand up for himself in front of these humiliations, this magnifying his fears and cowardice over time.

Once upon a time…

Hello my loves! I am back on the blog. 🙂 I am bursting with excitement to share beautiful insights and hang out with you in this space online. The writers have done an incredible job at weaving simple stories into more complex dichotomies and picturing the inner battle between good and evil inside these characters.

It’s Friday and I felt inspired to share more about all the principles my husband and I learnt from our “winter” season where we had to deal with very painful chronic health problems for 2 straight years. Such a long agonizing time is enough to destabilize any person on this earth and we could have not kept our sanity (hopefully we did) without doing major 360 overhauls to our daily life approach. As they say, everything happens for a reason, and on that note we recently discovered that everything we learnt from that season in our life applies beautifully into the following season. Right now humanity as a whole, more or less, is going through a winter season due to the pandemic. I wanted to share the following lessons with you in the hopes these tips will soothe your pain and offer some relief, strategy and hope if you’re going through a terrible time. Just know that no matter what painful situation you’re going through there is the sun on the other side even though the clouds are completely covering the sky for a while. Let’s dive into it!
