A significant character in Rumpel’s life, Belle, has been a huge catalyst as she was able to see beyond his darkness and heartless demeanor and was attracted to what she perceived as his good heart underneath. She succeeded in reaching and “deactivating” him with her trust and kindness as Belle was not fearing him and even defied his rules a few times. This article is the first in the relationship series as I believe the ability to deal with stress and to know oneself, know the signs when we become stressed and how to fulfill our own needs to the best of our ability is an incredible asset to have in our toolbox in order to maintain a harmonious marriage.


Stress is inevitable in our lives, the most important is knowing how to best deal with it. When stress is gone our differences are never a problem. Reminiscing about the beginning of the relationship, we remember feelings of ease, butterflies in the stomach and many joyful smiles. We can absolutely maintain that beautiful state, it just takes some education and discipline. In the beginning, stress is usually lower. Once the relationship unfolds and more routine and daily life difficulties settle in, stress increases.

How to cope with chronic illness as a couple

Disease is one of the unpredictable events of life which hits us like a ton of bricks. It never asks for our opinion and it completely disrupts our day to day life. We don’t see it coming and are seldom prepared for how to deal with it. Suddenly, this reality does not belong only to “people out there” but it is right in our cozy home. Not only does it take a bit hit on our morale but also it takes its toll on our mental health, relationships, and sense of accomplishment. At the end of the day everything is stalled and we now need to reroute, stop our plans, delay our goals and face this challenge that we know not much about.
